Alexander McQueen's succesor: Sarah Burton

Gucci Group did not welcome the idea of hiring an established designer at McQueen. Hence, they chose Ms. Sarah Burton, colleague of the late Alexander McQueen for 14 years, as the creative director of the brand. Story here

I MUST SAY: I am no intense for fashion, but Alexander McQueen's label is really over the top --pieces are seemingly tailored for medieval queens and high priests since I was reminded of King Solomon as illustrated in the Bible; which made me think again as for appropriation considerations, can I use a religious term as such --esp for a her, or is it not really. Anyhoo, here are some designs from McQueen's last collection which were completed by Sarah Burton:

MONDAY INSPIRATION: Ashish Gupta is a BIG CHECK

Ashish Gupta is about color and fun with a fities/eighties twist. I love him because he layers well and mixes bold hues awesomely and keeps a good short lenght, in most times.

As far as I know, he collaborated with Topshop too --those leopard print wedges and studded suits (rock-and-roll-like type or I can imagine a bad-ass chica wearing one in a big motorcycle, well, personally).

Not highlighting on his collaboration with Topshop, when asked what his signature designs are, he would say that they are mainly about "sequins, glamour, sportswear and more sequins." :) (I guess this is the reason why I love him so bad)

How would he describe the Ashish woman: “Fun-loving and sexy with a sense of humor who likes to make an entrance.” With those sequined-designed clothes, so it seems...

from SPRING 2010 (my favorite collection, so far, everything is really eye-candy and super good):

from SPRING 2009: Made me want to have a playing card shirt!!!

P.S. I wanna learn how to silk screen. Teach me how, anyone? You may comment here if you can help me, seriously. :) It'll be great to meet a kind and, I suppose, creative/artistic stranger... :)

H&M nailed it once again

I always find blazers fashionable. It can turn a plain white or black tee stand out. A great designed and fitting blazer is a MUST HAVE on one's wardrobe. It can go a long way to achieve a chic ragged to semi-formal to formal look.

Just now, I was browsing blogs from bloggers that I follow and looks from chictopia.com and lookbook.nu, and I found one great find they all possess. At first glance, I thought it's a Valentino jacket, though, yea? It came to me as a shock and I was really in awe when I knew that it is actually from H&M included in The H&M Garden Collection. Beyond doubt, H&M never fails to make me want to be in their store.

Other stuff from the Garden Collection (which reminded me of looklet.com):

And because ordinarily extraordinary people (ah, what?) wearing great clothes and matches apparels well greatly inspire me. Here are some photos from two great fashion bloggers and two fashionistas from Chictopia.com and lookbook.nu who played the blazer/jacket well (credits and link below each photo):
