Swedish Hasbeens!

These Swedish Hasbeens are so adorable! I personally am eyeing on these low hasbeens! I can feel them snuggling my feet by merely looking at them!

Low hasbeens in the middle!! Wish they're available in delectable colors that make up Children's Hasbeens, though! :S

"Swedish Hasbeens shoes are hand-made using the same craftsmanship as in the the 70s which is kind to people and nature. We use natural materials and you could pretty much bury your shoes in your garden.

Like all hand-made stuff using natural materials every pair will be unique which is a sign of quality. So don’t worry if the wood varies in color and if there are twigs in it. Natural grain leather may also have marks and may vary in color and thickness. The untreated natural colored leather will darken with time. The colored leather, like black, might rub off on other light stuff. The color on the painted wooden sole and the rubber sole will wear off in a natural way with time." -Swedish Hasbeens

The different heels height of Swedish Hasbeens. They also have loafers, boots, bags and belts and children's hasbeens. List of products here in Swedish Hasbeens' site (where I got these photos).

Swedish Hasbeens and H&M collaborated for Spring 2011 (came out in stores just recently; April 20th to be exact) featuring three wood-sole clog designs which are available in different colors to suit anyone's spring outfit! This collection makes the look of a '70s Bohemian woman.

HAIL Knockoffs

I make it a point to visit one shoe store in Cubao Expo every time I pay a short visit. They have cheap yet nice ladies' shoes. Some even have Landmark tag prices which they sell for more than half the price. It is where I found the perfect PVC flats.

I told myself a year ago that I will not buy jelly shoes EVERRR. You know those salable jelly shoes you see everywhere? Those, in particular. But then, I found a cute PVC-made flats with a tiny peep toe hole and a bow over the toes. They are the cutest in the planet! I'm thinking they are Vivienne Westwood melissa Ultragirl shoes x Lovefoxxx Numa knock-offs, though. But being a yuppie who just finished college and just started working four months ago without more-than-enough savings, I can settle on forgivable knockoffs.

REALLY CUTEEE at really affordable price!
Lovefoxxx Numa x Melissa Ultragirl = rendition of mine

The Lovefoxxx Numa gave me the willies. Most people will surely be initially scared when they see your shoes with two rats on each pair! hah!
This is a collaboration between melissa and Lovefoxxx, the lead singer from the cult Brasilian band CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy). In line with Lovefoxxx's love of the animal kingdom it features a mouse on the front of the shoe. The mouse is not detachable and is in a different spot on the left and right shoe. ABOUT Directly lifted from HERE

There are A LOT, A LOT melissa shoes to love. Here are a few favorites I would personally want to wear:

J Maskrey Vinyl

 or a simple Vinyl

I really am not a fan of winged SB-like shoes but this VW Wing (very Japanese/Harajuku) wedges is the bomb! My problem with this one will probably be its fit on my feet.
VW Zen Girl
I'd wear this everyday!
VW Mary-Jane. I won't choose yellow, though.
This is the style that started it all for the melissa + Vivienne Westwood collaboration

Just a little somethin' somethin' about the brand, melissa shoes are made from eco-friendly and recyclable mono materials and has been leading an ecological  fashion revolution for almost 30 years. The brand collaborates with top designers namely Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexandre Herchcovitch, Edson Matsuo, Gaetano Pesce, Zaha Hadid, Karim Rashid, Campana Brothers, Isabela Capeto, Lovefoxxx, Judy Blame, and J Maskrey.

Ipanema/Shoe Salon also carries few melissa shoes. No collaborations pieces yet, though.

MORE STRAPS PLEASE: A girl can never have too many shoes

I used to think that you have to spend thousands for a good pair of shoes. God knows why, my feet are thin and long. I'm a size 7 in width but a size 8 or 9 even in length. But just as we all know, when an inch long is added so does to its width to proportionate. I try to somehow solve my seemingly big dilemma by going to US branded shoe stores since they have half sizes. In general though, I never really did spend time in the shoe section; I'll just sulk in frustration, I argued.

Then, I started seeing really affordable yet stylish and to top it all off, comfortable ones that fit my 'annoying' feet just right. It began with a pair. Then, I find myself wanting to go to the shoe section first before anything else when I hit shops and malls. I also made my debut in wearing 2 to 3 inched wedges!

 GO NUDE

NEXT: My mom was too generous to tell me to get the other pair of almost the same style of different color.
GO BROWN

LAST FIND: I'll still never get tired of flats! Please excuse. The flats are bronze and shiny. I can't take a good steady clear photo, srsly!

ALL OF WHICH are strappy, yes...

SOME QUICK OUTFIT POSTS:
I'm in love with bows and any animal element!!
At my apartment. I now have curtains, by the way!
FAIL, yes
LEFT: bows all over the blouse. RIGHT: horses on bottom of dress. OH, bows and animals!!!

Seems like I solely showcased the brown strappy wedges! I don't have time and didn't have someone to take a photo of me. I have now, thank God! :)
I wore the flats for this romper one holiday, though. Pardon the eyes.

SOMETHING FROM F21: I went to F21 this week to check out their clogs! Too bad they ran out of stocks already. I could have put my 1,500 to 1,600 for a pretty good pair already if the shoes and I were meant to be! lulz!

But I heard SM Department Store in Megamall and Makati are coming out with clogs this October! I saw pretty booties that are about to come as well!

FOR THE LOVE OF PROMOD: Lace-up heeled boots

The moment I saw them, I knew they're perfect! I did not purchase them right away though since I want to put my money in good investment. LOL. Then, as I was rethinking, I went back two days ago to fit them again and finally decided to get them. On one end, I don't know when to wear 'em!

I stand 168cms tall and additional three inches would make me feel and think that friends and other people wouldn't want to walk beside me --just a scene in my head 'coz I remember some comments from friends. Plus, I'm the type who doesn't want the spotlight --those stares and whispers. Or, am I just too conscious? hee!

WHICH BRINGS ME TO PONDER: Why did I purchase them, then? I was thinking of wearing them at work or an event God knows when!

More so, despite its heels, it has platforms which made it way way easier to walk in! If you want the ease and comfort from heeled ones, go for platformed / platform shoes. :)

JUST SAYING: Just the other day, I saw Tricia Gosingtian wearing the same pair in one photo as I was browsing her site. As usual, the pair looks good on her!

THIS IS WHY I LOVE ANTHOLOGY SHOES: Wanting more

ANTHOLOGY SHOES WILL TAKE YOU TO PLACES: Funny how it seems and to take note that most of their pairs are named after a place. With their naming and as I try to put sense or merely play with the idea, I can say that Anthology shoes can take you to far away places comfortably without getting any blisters --your feet for that matter. With Anthology, you need not bring slippers which you might need after a long walk --know what I'm talking about, yea?

With that being said, I found new ones I really like which are as follow:

This new baby I should see and try on! They come in gold, silver and black patent! They are really adorable!
pictures and color choices info from Tricia Gosingtian's post HERE

Then, upon browsing Anthology's site, I came across this pair of bow and studs!
 "TOKYO"

If you opt for printed ones, this is pretty good:
"NASSAU"

Lastly, leaning on a masculine side or touch, they have brogues now!
"LONDON"

YOU WANT MORE, BETTER YET: Visit anthologyshoes.com to see more and see the color swatches they have for these and other more.

GOOD NEWS as of July 17: Anthology is giving away a gold Shanghai in size 8! Details here! ;-)

Ever bought shoes that are too small: Stretch Your Shoes With Ice

Some and I myself would say, screw fashion if it compromises comfort. On one end, when it comes to formal events I wouldn't care so long as it looks good and so long as it brings out the confidence I need to schmooze with different people. I accepted the fact that at one point, you have to wear heels, you have to wear shoes, you have to wear those feet sore and be out of your comfort zone. The simple concept of dressing up made me realize this. Hence, I have to say that one need not suffer to be stylish, though there are dire times from which I refer such instances and thoughts.

Months ago, I've been meaning to try Michelle Phan's shoe stretching technique. My right foot is an inch bigger than my left. And so this simple shoe stretching technique was a big yes for me the moment I knew about it. Finally, a few centimeters off pain, I said.

I bought leather ankle boots just recently. Dealing with the same dilemma, the right pair is small for my feet. And so I figured, now is the time I get to try if ice works since I'm dying to wear them for fashion week.

the exact pair I used for the experiment

STRETCH YOUR SHOES WITH ICE: When I was asking my mom for the materials that I needed, she was kind of doubtful. She made a good point, isn't it that cold therapy or compress results to contraction while anything subjected to heat causes expansion. But then, I still tried it out.

This technique works best on leather since leather is more conforming and has more give than synthetics. Though Michelle Phan would point out that if it's fake leather you might need to do the process for a few more times.

The last step was kind of funny. I couldn't help but feel weird for placing the shoe in the freezer. Then, my brother was even puzzled when I was finally getting the shoes out of it after a day resting in there. Yea, for 24-hours since the leather is too thick and tough.

PROBLEMS I ENCOUNTERED: The shoes I have are closed ones as you see (photo above). I had hard time putting the Ziplock pack inside with it's small opening and body. The water pack is neither not enough nor too much. So I had to pour in and pour out water (vice versa) which resulted to a shoe soaked in water before I could even place the pack inside somehow perfectly since I wasn't able to aim in pushing the pack towards the very end of the shoe.

During the process, it made me think that it's easier for peep toes as seen in the video; or in closed shoes case, doll shoes or simple slip-ons are easier to get the whole steps done with.

WAS IT A SUCCESS: It's gonna be a YES. First of all, the shoe has a limit to how far it could stretch. So don't expect that the shoes could go from size 7 to 8. The result is merely just a loosen up thing. It was a success by the fact that I managed to walk in it for hours which I can't do prior to subjecting the shoes in freeze.

EMBEDDED IS THE VIDEO for instructions. The video below might appear blank/might not appear. So, you can view it HERE.

PERFECT FLATS: Capri by Anthology Event

Recently, I purchased this pair for 2,895 pesos at Analog Soul in Trinoma. This pair is by Anthology EVENT, which is Marikina made but the upper leather, sole leather, and materials are imported from Italy (not that I'm gaga for imported made products, just so we all know). I think the inner fabric is made of pig skin, though (or not). Anyhoo, they claim that their shoes are all about all-day comfort and I couldn't agree more!

The box and the logo, Anthology Event

Whenever I wear newly bought footwear, I suffer for two days or so until the time that it finally fits and adjusts to my feet perfectly and comfortably. But with this Anthology event flats, my feet did not hurt at all. It did but after a whole day of walk which is the normal type of sore you get even when wearing slippers. It fits your feet perfectly too since its garterized. Your feet neither look too big nor too small.

Thinking that you think like I do, I'm kind of hesitant to try them on since it kind of looks like one of those Tory Burch wanna be. But after trying them on, I said: Oh ok, this is by Anthology. Nothing more, nothing less, just real and fashionable comfort shoes.

That pair is named Capri, stock # is 8333. It also comes in Stabillo Red Orange (though it's labeled red in their catalog) which my friend bought. It also is available in other color but Analog Soul only has those two colors at that time. I guess we're already that late. They also have other flats but other designs that I tried on are somewhat hurtful.

You may see a lot of garterized flats which looks somehow like it at different shoe stores. But unless you try this one on, you'll never know the difference. My mom always fit those garterized flats and nothing meets the comfort she's looking for. And when I tried this one on, I knew that they're meant to comfort my feet. The price is really worth it. I'm using it for three days straight without foot sore. AMAZING!

I can say that this is one of my good finds! I heard that they're running out of stocks! Hurry and feel the comfort personally! :)

You may also find Anthology at The Ramp outlets at Glorietta, Shangri-La, The Podium, and Quezon Avenue; Chocolate Clothing Co. stores at Trinoma and Ayala Cebu; Trilogy Boutique in Makati; Athem at Greenbelt 5, Powerplant, and Shangri-La; and where I got mine, Analog Soul in Trinoma.
