BACON SLAB at Poco Deli!!

After a client meeting, we went straight to Poco Deli for lunch. It is a little delicatessen situated at Kapitolyo, Pasig City just a few meters away from Charlie's Burger. Nothing fancy on the exterior; it is just a small place that you might even miss/not notice, but the food is really, really good! It offers all sorts of sausages, cold cuts and cheese; they also offer wine selection.

  POCO DELI!!!
I want to try the Seafood pasta with truffle oil... next time
 No MSG, No preservatives!
Wine area
See, place is quite small.

DUN DUN DUN DUN...
I totally did not have hard time selecting my order. I immediately said that I am getting BACON STEAK! Plus, I am reserving Dave's Frozen Yogurt for dessert.

So, this is how 'uncut', INCH THICK bacon looks like, huh...
Two servings of an inch thick bacon slab right durr! THIS IS SUPER!
Looks like liempo ba? haha! Iz bacon, please...
It looked small in this photo.
I tell you, if you love bacon or you just want a good slab of meat, you oughta try this!
Sausages, cheese, and cold cuts.
For dessert, two had gooey chocolate cake (MUST TRY! REALLY GOOD!) while our boss had Häagen-Dazs popsicle.
They also have cupcakes looking ala-Sonja's! hee! I miss munching on Cupcakes by Sonja!
I had a cup of Strawberry Dave's Naturals yogurt. They also have chocolate flavored yogurt which is one of their best sellers. I wanted something fruity, though. If my memory serves me right, it costs 85php per cup now.

Some photos from here.

CHEF'S TABLE by Chef Bruce Lim

My new team was nice to even facilitate a welcome lunch for me. We had a reservation at Chef's Table a week ago.

We started our meal off with clam and mussel appetizer (REALLY good!). For our main course, I finished the Prawn Aligue my Way: oven-baked fresh prawns (but those were just shrimps!) on aligue-flavored vermicelli. It was somewhat spicy but could really be spicy for most. I can bear the heat so they let me finish  the plate. I expected that it would have quite a good number of prawns (hence the name), but to my surprise, there were just two mini 'garnish' shrimps.

Generally speaking, I wasn't as pleased as Punch with the menu/overall taste (esp. for our main course) --I am coming from the consideration of the weightily fact that it is owned by a renowned Chef. The plating was relatively posh with an indigen/native touch which is good and is suiting; the place is well-interiored and the ambiance is good; the price is forgiving; but the overall taste isn't, again, overwhelming. The team said that Chef Laudico's better (oops!... but then I still haven't been to Bistro Filipino. Gotta try then).

We even saw Rajo Laurel with his ghey friends enjoying their food and making chummy with the Chef. Hee!

Chef's Table. Rajo Laurel and his gay friends on the left! I always get fascinated whenever I see celebrities, but with Rajo, not much. Tama lang; not to the point of wanting to have a photo with him. haha!
If you want to work here, you gotta be (semi)bald! CHOSS!
Open kitchen ala-NY!
Chill-a-fino: a steamed fillet of stone grouper sitting on a bed of bright violet, unexpected savory ube mash. (not sure if this is really the plate in left. haha!)
Kadios: The one sitting in beans.  Kadios refers to the pigeon pea, also known as red gram or Congo peas in English.
Prawn Aligue My Way: in banana leaf. My favorite!
We also had dinuguan --not captured in photo. I don't eat dinuguan but for courtesy purposes, I tried it.
Ilocano/Ilonggo dishez
For dessert we had Langka Creme Brulee and Cheesecake. (Is this Langka Creme Brulee? Haha!) Ours' isn't served in this glass eh. I LOVED IT!
Chef Bruce Lim was all-around. He jumped from one table to another just to make simple conversation and checked from time-to-time if we're doing fine, etc. etc.
He checks all dishes before they get served. Prior to serving, I saw our clam and mussels appetizer being disapproved and was sent back to kitchen for tweaking!

BEEN IDLE FOR DAYS: A catch up

Just so you know, I've been going to-and-fro Manila and Pampanga for the past few weeks to score a great job. I'm down with two choices which is good.  The one I prefer is still on the bench  though since I just went through the second process two days ago. Hopefully, they will give me a call by early next week.

Not focusing much on my unsure personal endeavors which might jinx it but I started with it anyway since I am almost always a blabbermouth blogger type, I scribbled and pop edited my photo.

'Pop-sicle'

Since I have no precise thought for this post, I will just go through my plans these past few weeks despite my solely for impassive thoughts claim.

I am an impulsive and quantity-over-quality buyer. I invest on little things so long as I get ample stuff out of my money. But as I am finally entering the labor force, I am planning to invest on great items not minding the price. Thus, cultivate my patience to save for it. Even if I'd have to wear blinders or winkers just so I can focus and not put my money into small items yet again as I pass through the mall and kiosks, figuratively speaking.

(1) BRAND NEW DESIGNER BAG: I want a tote bag for everyday use. I will be selling my ragged clothes, accessories and bags tomorrow. I want to invest on a Louis Vuitton bag --the Neverfull Damier / Monogram MM.

Mom wouldn't let me have or even lend hers because I am not careful with things! A Longchamp bag is also of my choice and is the safest bet. I also want the Prada Antic Cervo OR the Gauffre Satchel Tote OR Prada's Fringed Tote OR the one I'm eyeing in their Greenbelt store which costs 110 freaking thousand pesos. On my list also is the Miu Miu Vitello Lux Satchel in allumino. Basically, I am leaning on a classic piece for my first must-have.

(2) DRESSES: One can never go wrong in a dress for work or even an event. It's an over-all piece which will enable you to save time and save yourself from headache of matching a top and a bottom. I need not say more.

(3) PLANNER: I need a planner that is simple yet chic.  It's time I strive for excellence in whatever I do. Seemingly simple thought but could somehow solve my dilemma of tardiness and forgetfulness which oftentimes are the culprit of a bigger problem.

(4) JOURNAL: It's time I take account every detail of my future trip. Mind you, you can never remember the details. It is really helpful that one has a journal discussing in detail, as much as possible, everything. Now that my friends and I are planning to go out-of-town, I've realized how it is important to do so. I can't relay information about our past visits since I already forgot about the simplest yet frequently asked questions about a tour and about a place.

(5) ZECHARIAH 4:6 : I should always bear in mind to give thanks in all things. It has always been my spiritual and one of my numerous life mantra that it is not by my might nor by my own strength but by the Spirit of God alone. During UPCAT, my verse is in Psalms. Same thought as this.

I am way way enthusiastic to see and marvel on what God is about to do in my life and give in the coming days. Indeed, I am favored!

TO END, let me share with you my Photo of the Day:

P.S. To my new followers, thanks! Followed all of you back which I always do. Thanks for the sweet comments on my previous posts. And I shall visit your blog tomorrow to leave comment(s) as well. Always, always give back.
