THE AFTERMATH: BonChon and Banapple (and Forever 21)

What better way to do after immersing yourself in the water than eat. We went to Ayala Triangle Gardens to try BonChon.

BonChon originated from South Korea and is voted as the Best Chicken in America. It is cooked the Korean way by frying the chicken twice. This makes the skin and fat to separate and makes the skin really crispy. Hence, they claim that they serve healthier chicken with zero trans fat. I'll tell you about my personal dining experience at Bonchon through pictures and the captions. :)

I actually prefer my friend's Chicken Chop Rice (P125)! The flavor we chose is both Soy Garlic. I wonder why his' is way way tastier. :( 
We ordered iced tea with our meals which reminded us of A La Creme's and Rumpa's.

 I ordered 3 pc. Soy Garlic flavored chicken wings with rice (P145). You have a choice of either wings or drumstick. Then, for flavor either Soy Garlic or Hot & Spicy.
Most of the reviews I read said that Hot & Spicy is really spicy which made me opt to order Soy Garlic. Having tasted Soy Garlic, I think, on the contrary, that it lacks kick and tasted a bit bland. Unlike other reviews also which said that the flavor of the chicken seeps through, I found mine otherwise. The flavor is only concentrated in the skin. I guess they have to make their chicken consistent. Quite disheartening but I would like to try it again.
 I wish that they allow customers to mix flavors even for short orders. 

 One of us ordered Bulgogi Rice (P125). Which reminds me, I want to try the Bulgogi Wrap!!

 The walls are nice and the hanged photos inside frames tell so much story about BonChon which is really nice and informative. Nothing special on the place and the ambiance much in general.

After having late lunch at BonChon, we had dessert at the over-rated-God-knows-why dining place that is Banapple. Few minutes after settling, Boo came and ordered pasta and two more cakes. Banapple never fails to give me the homey dining experience. Plus, their servings are good for sharing! :)

Four different slices of cakes ransacked! We ordered three different variants of cheesecake: Banana starry-berry custard cheesecake, Snicker Fudge Cheesecake, Oreo Brownie Fudge Cheesecake and one cake of different type! O.O 

Baked Creamy Cheesy Penne!! I love their pasta and the herbed bread that comes with it.... and SALAD too which we did not order, though. We didn't order their best-selling Banoffee Pie too since Ju objected. Hee.

We visited Forever 21 in Makati on its first day too! It's quite bigger!!! The queues are long!!

Trilogy Boutique and Canteen

I opt to go to a mall because it's a one stop destination. There's dining, shopping, and entertainment of all sorts. Compound type places like Cubao Expo and the recently established The Collective tried to put together different shops and elements such as dining, galleries, shopping but leaning more on artsy and everything indie and, as I personally put and see it, hodgepodge of alternative to mainstream. 

I remember mom and I would go to Cubao Expo for a skin product that The Reading Room offers and some organic products that you can find in stores around Cubao X as the nearest supplier in mind. Then, we would eat at Bellini's Restaurant since it's Lucy Torres' favorite Italian restaurant, well, at that time she gushed about it in one column or show. Then, we go to Halo for their malunggay pasta and malunggay pesto though I heard it's not as healthy as it's supposed to be.

Then, I got hooked on online shopping. I would read information from my favorite shops and see if they have a store somewhere near. One online shop, oOhwables, is in Cubao X so I went to see their clothes in actual. I still vie to have the chance to try on clothes and even accessories. I thank God I fell out of love for online shopping already --from spending too much on courier fees! Yea, there were good buys, but there were also plenty of poor items Boo! I got accustomed to online shopping for a very long time and I think a huge amount of my money went there.

On the contrary, none of these whereabouts (excluding online shopping in this matter) were huge thing for me at that time. Not until hipsters constantly raved about the place and would post photos of them having a good time. I did not know that it is actually that hipstery at night. I became aware that it is actually that cool for some people. Consequently, I feel an aura of the hipsterdom everytime I step into the place now. Haha!

Recently, friends and I went to Trilogy Boutique and Canteen which combines dining and shopping and is owned by Jon Herrera, Rosario Herrera, Vicky Herrera, and DJ Steve Aoki. They have good independent brands such as Alternative Apparel (I love their plain V-neck shirts!!!), Junk Food, Obey, Christys Crown Series Hats, WeSC, Anthology shoes, Generic Surplus, Dolce Vita, Andy Warhol Watches, Wright Supply Co., and a whole lot more. They also sell books and magazines if I'm not mistaken.

Canteen, their in-store cafe, offers viands and menu that is really tempting. I wanted to try their dessert as well, but I was out of budget already.
